10 Tips To Compete For A Job Successfully
(Luís Flávio Gomes)
10 tips, according to Professor Luís Flávio Gomes, to apply for the job of your dreams, successfully:1.TAKE THE TIME TO DREAM. Nobody achieves anything without dreaming of it first. "When a man dreams, the world bounces forward, like a colorful ball in a child's hand", said the poet. If you count the time to sleep, to work, to eat... you still have a third of it all, justto dream. Don't ever lose the capacity of dreaming, of seeking new knowledges, new horizons.2. SET YOUR GOALS. Keep your eyes on your purposes (say to yourself: I am going to be a judge, or a lawyer, or a teacher...)3. COMPROMISE. There is no dream or goal that comes real without persistence and devocion. Whoever wants to win the St. Sylvester marathon must begin to run in January. In this matter, knowledge is not to be purchased in supermarkets. It must be conquered and acquired with struggle and effort. But it pays back and your life will never be the same.4. NEVER GIVE UP. You don't study so that you can pass the test, you study until you pass the test. Every winner knows that persistence is fundamental. Thomas Edison said: Any man can be successful if he directs his thoughts tohis goaland insistsuntil he gets something. He would never have discovered the lamp, if he hadn't tried a thousand times. Don't stophalf-way there. That whoquits the game will never score the goal, hewill be just a spectator, only capable of applauding, not winning.5. KEEP INFORMED. In the age of agriculture, the power was in the land owner's hand. In the industrial age, the power belonged to whoever had the money. In the information era, the one who owns it, owns the power. Search the information restlessly, in books, in the Internet, in classes, etc. Make notes. Document your achievements. But have always critical sense: time is sacrate and not to be wastedwith superfluous matters.6. IMPROVE YOUR COMMUNICATION SKILLS. This is the era of communication , as well as information. Having the information and not knowing how to share it orcommunicate it, equals not to have it at all. Verbal and written communication. Work those skills, practicing as much as it takes. Always construct objective statements. Be direct and clear in your speech: subject, verb, complements, without flowerishness, redundancies and oversearched tedious terms.7. CONSTANT REPETITION AND REVISION. Our brain is not a computor, even though much more precious. Nobody is able to assimilate all knowledge at first approach. Repetitio est mater studiorium. Repeat, review, never let go. The KSM formula never fails: Konwledge=Study + Memorize. Always study a discipline until you feel you dominate it, taking notes, making resumes, consulting one or two books. You don't have to bring down the all Library on you! 8. BE A DISCIPLINE ADDICT.
