Resumo de Iracema - Jose de Alencar

The workmanship counts the history of love lived for Martin, a Portuguese, and Iracema an indian tabajara. They had gotten passionate themselves almost that to the first sight. Had the etnica difference, for Iracema to be son of pajé of the tribe and for Irapuã to like it, the only solution to be been together, is the escape. Helped for Poti, Iracema and Martim, they run away from the field of tabajaras, and start to live in the tribe of Poti (Pitiguara). This makes with that Iracema suffers, but its love for Martim is so stronger, that soon it gets used, or at least, she does not leave to be transparent. The escape of Iracema makes with that a new battle is stopped between tabjaras and pituguaras. Therefore Arapuã wants to avenge itself of Martin, who ?stole? Iracema, but Mertim is friend of Poti, indian pitiguara, that it will go to protect it. Moreover, tribe tabajara unites with Frenchmen that they fight against the Portuguese, who are allies of pitiguaras, for the ownership of the Brazilian territory. With passing of the time, Martim starts to feel lack of the people that left in its native land, and finishes distanciando itself of Iracema. This, in turn, already pregnant, suffers very perceiving the sadness from the loved one. Knowing that it is the reason of the suffering of Martim, it it decides to die later that giving to the light to the son.Knowing of the absence of Martim, Caubí, brother of Iracema, it goes to visit it and day that already pardoned it for having run away and data to the coasts to its tribe. It finishes knowing the nephew, and it promises to make regular visistas to the two. It counts that Araquém, father of Iracema, are very old and badly of health, due to escape of Iracema. Just in the period that Martim is not in the village, Iracema gives light to the son, which gives the name of Moacir. Suffering very, if not feeding, and for having recently given to the light, Iracema does not support more life and finishes after soon dying to deliver the son to the Martim. Iracema is embedded to the foot of a coconut palm, in the edge of a river, which later would be batizzado of Ceará, and that it would also give name to the region bathed for this river. To the way of this beautiful history of love, they are the tribal conflicts, intensified for the intervention of the whites, peocupados only in conquering more territories and dominating the aboriginals.
