The Eyes of Horus is a fantasy novel that quenches the thirst of all who crave a story rich in mythology.
The story begins with a young woman, Isis, running through a smoke filled corridor, clutching her young son to her bosom. The frightened girl recalls the massacre she has just witnessed, as she tries to get her infant to safety.
Through the recollections of Isis readers are first introduced to the land of Ra-Ashar. This paradise, which is a rare union between the world of the living and dead, is ruled by her husband Ra-Tem.
The inhabitants of Ra-Ashar have lived in peace and harmony for many years, but with the escape of the demon Hyrum, this has all abruptly come to an end. The band of demons, lead by one of Hyrum?s loyal followers Erida, have attacked the sacred city of Zandavare. They have placed Ra-Tem, and his loyal friend Osiris under an evil spell which leaves them in an eternal slumber.
Despite her valiant effort, Isis is over come by the demons and her young son is captured and carried away to the land of the living.
The story quickly introduces the Hathorian Clan, who are the protectors of the royal family, and this is when the action intensifies.
Marla, a young Hathorian warrior, has been blessed by the God Odin, and given the ability to travel to the land of the living. She must undertake the task of rescuing Prince Elysian, who has been captured by the demons during their rampage.
An array of colorful characters decorates the pages of this novel. They bring to life an amazing world filled with details that only a bold imagination could create.
Von Reiman fully describes many intense scenes between the Hathorians and the foul demons, that are intent on capturing the innocent souls of the mortals.
The heart of this story is based on the intertwining of many mythological characters. Odin, Ares, Garm, Charon, and many others grace the pages of this story that combines fantasy and reality. Explosive battle scenes take place in a variety of locations like the notorious Asgard, the home of the God Odin.
The fate of two worlds is placed in the hands of one young warrior, and up to the last sentence nothing can be taken for granite. The many twists and turns that erupt on every page only add to the excitement of this original story plot.
A combination of magic, wit and a touch of humor make this a page turner up to the very end. This is one of those unique novels that surpass the boundaries of age. Both adults and children alike will find ?The Eyes of Horus? an enthralling experience.
After I found this novel on Amazon.com, I decided to search for more books written by this new author, T.A. Von Reiman. I only found one other book written by Von Reiman ?Storms of Destiny? but I certainly will be on the look out for future books by this talented author.
