The Adventures Of Young Sherlock Holmes
(Arthur Conan Doyle)

Publicidade
The adventure of young Sherlock Holmes is a high voltage
thriller set in the background of the younger days of
Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock Holmes is 16 years old and the
days in the school described by the author Arthur Conan
Doyle just put up a clear picturization of the younger days
of Sherlock Holmes. This is the school where the
actual "profession" of Sherlock Holmes opens up. His quest
to solve any strange happenings right from his schooling
days form the backdrop of his profession that gains him a
big fame in the days to come. This is the school where
young Sherlock Holmes meets his life long friend Watson.
Watson is a short spectacled and a clever student in the
school. His meeting of Sherlock Holmes begins a turning
point in his career. Not only is he unable to concentrate
on his studies but also is frequently alerted by the
mischieves by his friend Sherlock Holmes.
As is common
in every story to introduce a heroine for every hero of a
story, so is this with this story too. Enter the beautiful
Elizabeth, the heroine of our story; the story has an
unexpected twist. The three, Sherlock Holmes, Watson and
Elizabeth are immersed in strange circumstances. With the
death of the professor Waxflatter dies, Holmes with his
deductive abilities spots out foul play. Prattling around
Holmes figures out a chain of murder (including that of his
friend Waxflatter) with the victims being of British origin
by an Egyptian cult "Rame Tep", moves to stop it.
Holmes
and his friends find themselves in the dark streets of
Unvisited London, the area resembling much of Arabia. Armed
with only a blow pipe recovered at the scene of crime they
stumble upon finding the temple of the cult with all kinds
Egyptian rituals of the long past going in it.
They are
chased by the cult members and are assaulted by blowpipes
and the assaults lead them to hallucinations. Piecing
together the final words of Waxflatter "Eh-Tar", Holmes
finds that Elizabeth is in danger as the cult prepares the
altar for the sacrifice of an young girl and is none else
but Elizabeth herself. Holmes is bound with the duty of
saving his sweetheart.
The climax is really thrilling
and keeps the readers stumbled upon the thought as to what
is going to happen next. The Adventures of young Sherlock
Holmes is really a high voltage thriller and the weird
incidents of the story are so cleverly pieced together that
they present a horrifying picture in the minds of the
readers.
Indeed Arthur Conan Doyle has established his
mastery in narrating a mystery in a very interesting way
