This little book of big deceptions is a reality checklist for free thinkers, conspiracy theorists and anyone who does not trust authority figures.According to author Russ Kick, the Ten Commandments listed in Exodus 20:2-17 are not really commandments. The men who translated the King James Version of the Bible use the phrase ?and God spake? to describe the familiar list of prohibitions. The Lord did not ?command? the children of Israel to do anything until Exodus 34. Strictly literal interpretations like this have inspired true believers (or heretics) since man began committing holy writ to paper (or stone).These and 49 other little known and less frequently published facts are included in this 120 some page pamphlet written in the tradition of Thomas Paine?s Common Sense. Interesting facts such as black men served in the confederate army and electric cars have been around since the 1880's are discussed. Facts that liberals might find inconvenient such as early feminists opposed abortion are listed along side facts that might embarrass conservatives such as the US government lies about the number of terrorist convictions it obtains. Facts that could make one nervous regardless of political affiliation like medication errors kill thousands each year and the police are not legally obligated to protect you are also included.The statements within the book are not divided into sections or grouped in any particular order. Each of the 50 facts is presented on its own with cited references and independent reports.
