What is life? What is the sense of it ? These questions and
similar to these are the majority thought of this novel.

Everybody look at life in different way. He see more

positive or negative aspects of the way it is
functioned.

Veronica is a complicated person. From one side
others

could be envy that circumstances she lives in: she has

already finished her study, she has the parents who love
her

very much and a boyfriend, also she has not got any

problems. But from the other side, more subjective, when
she

wonders about herself - she does not know who is she.

Life is all about choosing. The girl goes in mind to
the

point that none of the decisions she has made trully was
not

something what she could really want. Every day life is

planed, schematic, sexless, sayig in one word - a
routine

taking away from the character very substential part of
her

view of the wold - its sense.

Analizying detail after detail from Weronika's short

exist the only salvation she see is in the pills for
sleep

which will finish hopeless life in her opinion.

Instead go to the heaven, she is placed in
psychiatric

hospital. There is a plenty of people who lost their
contact

with reality to imaginated superworlds where they feel

secured. There are also the doctors and the nurses doing

their jobs with a little deviation. All institucion's

functioning is swaddled by absolutly silence.

Veronica who is seperated from outside world forgets

that there is something besides this lodging in which
she

has been shut for some time.

Subconsciously she starts to focused her attention
at

herself. Through the contact withe the entourage she
findes

her own ego. There is not any prohibition here so she
can do

whatever she has desire for. All days the person plays
the

piano.

The shy curiosity appears which weaks up with the
girl.

She becomes more open and she starts to like the featres
of

the character that she has found in herself. Men living
in

estabilishment also change their attitude to her; from
the

beginning they were very unkind for her. They became
more

goodwilled to her.

Determined majority presents her compassion. There
is

not too much life left for Weronika.The doctor has
claimed

that she has got real serious problems with her heart.
Not to

much time left for her during she realised that she
wants to

live. She is going to catch every minute in her
lifetime.

Everything counts for her now.
