Carrie

Carrie is Stephen King?s first novel and it is the one that put him on the radar. Carrie is raised by a bible thumping, fanatical mother who forbids her to have any fun at all, unless it involves being locked in a closet with a bible to pray for forgiveness. Her days in school are made worse by the relentless teasing by her classmates. Finally the worm has turned, Carrie is asked to senior prom by a popular guy in the senior class. Very excited, Carrie defies her mother and goes to prom. But, Carrie has a secret and lucky for her, because after being humiliated and having pigs blood thrown on her while at the prom. Carrie lets loose her super-duper telekinetic powers and not only destroys the school but the town also. This is not a very scary book but a real page-turner.
