That night Swani was too excited to tell his grandma that his dear friend Rajam had a gun, to his surprise his grandma believed but didnt show the interest he expected. He continued saying, Rajam has also killed a tiger when he went out hunting with his father. Grandma says he indeed must have. Swami asked her if she was saying that just to please him. Grandma disagreed saying Rajam is a brave boy, though she had never met him.Swami's Grandma seemed to be in her own world always bringing a reference to Swami's grandfather and his greatest achievements which failed to get Swami's attention.

Next day was a long expected Saturday and Swami was dying to get out of the house and play with Mani and Rajam. But his father was still at home and Swami sat with his English reader but kept an eye on his father who was getting ready to leave for his office. As he was getting dressed, Swami was on his mark to leave too, he watched his father leave and cross the lane from his window and jumped out and started running towards the gate ignoring his grandma's call. His mother stopped him saying she will not allow him roam in the sun, Swami said he was called by his drawing teacher, he will fail if he doesn?t go.

He kept running till he reached Mani's house, the heat was terrible but not enough to beat their enthusiasm, they both headed towards Rajam's house, it was going to be a great achievement, Rajam's father was the master of all the policemen in Malguri and they were his son's friend who also has a police uniform. But they were stopped at the gate of the huge bungalow; a policeman asked them where were they going, Swami was too scared to reply and asked Mani to say something. Mani proudly said that they are Rajam's friend and has come to visit him. The policeman took them to Rajam's room. Rajam was aware that his friends were coming to see his kingdom. He kept waiting in the other room as he has seen his father making people wait. He waited till he couldn?t bear the excitement and rushed to the other room to find Swami and Mani looking around the room with amazement. Rajam gave them the permission to play with whatever they wanted, Swami was pleased to see his friend's possessions. Rajam tried to show his authority to his friends and shouted at the servant to bring his friends food. Swami and Mani were shocked to see Rajam shouting at the policeman. What courage! They thought. When the servant bought the snacks and kept on the table Rajam screamed at him without any reason, the servant was taken aback and told Rajam to behave properly. This became a prestige issue for Rajam in front of his friends and he started screaming at the servant showing his power to his friends. The servant then took away the tray saying if he wanted to eat he has to come to the kitchen and get it. Swami and Mani both wondered how could his friend loose to a servant. Rajam kept thinking how to get his authority back and ran to the kitchen and got the food tray himself. He smiled at his friends and said that he went to the kitchen and gave such a kick to the servant that he is lying unconscious in the kitchen.
