The Heart's Desire (d)

?Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious, never boastful or proud, never haughty or selfish or rude. Love does not demand its own way. It is not irritable or touchy. It does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong.?
-1 Corinthians 13:4,5

There is no obligation to earn this love unspeakable. You can be free from trying to justify everything you do because you are justified in Jesus Christ. The point is that He loved us first; He wanted to save us when He created us. He wants you to enjoy His love and be free from any facet of the trouble that you may have had with sin. Ultimately, God?s intention is to set us free from any burdens. He will not harass you though. You are free to decide whether or not you want to acknowledge and reverence Him. He wants us to choose what we think will make us happy, even though He knows best. This is part of the freedom He has given us.

It is just a matter of whether or not you would like to receive His love. The only requirement is that you give yourself up entirely to Him. ??He will conquer you to bless you, just as He said. For the Lord is faithful to His promises? (Isaiah 30:18). Then, you find that you are completely set free. He is simply pleased if you seek His face and seeking His face is seeking love, even chasing after it. However, He will meet you once you take the first step, we do not have to chase very far. ?Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened. For everyone who asks, receives. Anyone who seeks, finds. If only you will knock, the door will open? (Matthew 7:7,8). In order for love to be seen though, we must first come to the source of love.

Even when we choose the wrong path, His love seeks us out and finds us, that is, if you first ask to be found. If you have difficulties of any kind, why this is where love is discovered. Our challenges in life do not come because the Lord has deserted us or doesn?t care; difficulties are a fact of life. We all face problems, but how we handle the problems is what matters because this is where love is to be pursued. The point is not to focus on the problem because it will always be there if that is where you choose to dwell. The point is to focus on God. Focus on His love and He will make the problem go away. God?s love is always there; nothing can separate us from it. Let your challenges bring you closer to God because it is in difficulties where love becomes prevalent and real.

?For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from His love. Death can?t, and life can?t. The angels won?t, and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God?s love away. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, or where we are ? high above the sky, or in the deepest ocean ? nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when He died for us.?
-Romans 8:38,39

He has made available a valuable tool for dealing with our problems. He has given us the Holy Spirit, the Almighty One living inside us, never to depart from us. ?For you are God?s temple, the home of the living God, and God has said of you, I will live in them?? (2 Corinthians 6:16). By giving us His Spirit, we have the privilege of knowing certain things He knows. One of those things is the best way to live. The Holy Spirit gives us the privilege of and access to understanding the way God understands, which is wisdom. This information is privileged to those who accept Him and His way of life.

When you have found that true source of love and become part of God?s family, you must trust that He is a good and loving God, and wants to bless you. Trusting God requires obedience to God. Obeying God is living in His love. ?Loving God means doing what He tells us to do, and really, that isn?t hard at all; for every child of God can obey Him, defeating sin and evil pleasure by trusting Christ to help Him? (1 John 5:3,4). We cannot love from our own resources. Instead, we have the capacity to love because God loves us first and in this fact alone we must trust Him. We must trust that He loves us and that He is a good God and a loving God, and wants to bless us. Even trusting is not of ourselves, that too is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8,9). If you trust, obey, and love Him then you will encounter His power, faithfulness, and most of all love.
