King Solomon?s Mines
(Sir H Rider Haggard)

Publicidade
Many years ago my grand mother told me a story about a beautiful land called Suliman mountains where King Solomon hidden his diamonds, then I laugh at the story but twenty years later this story became the story of my life:

One day an old man stopped in my camp in Bamangwato and told me that if I will ever
meat him again he will be the richest man in the world and though after a month
two of my hunters found him and brought him to me, he was dying but before he died he gave me some paper and a map and told me: ?if you could live across the desert and go there you will be the richest man on earth!? and he died.
on this paper were written the last words of some old man that reach this cave under the mountain called: ?Sheba?s breasts?, he was dying from hunger and he said that he is now holding the most precious treasure in the world: Solomon?s diamonds, he was locked inside the cave and cant go out until he died.

a couple of months later in my way home that is in Durban I met two of my friends:
Sir Henry Curtis and Captain John Good as we were talking I told them about the man
stopped in my camp and show them the map he gave me.
and so after talking about it we decided to take the adventure and find ?Solomon?s mines?.
we started to organize a group of men, some hunters and navigators and between the men we one Zulu man called: Umbopa that later found as the lost king of the Kukuanas were Solomon?s mines are.

after a few weeks across the desert we drank all our water and some men went back and didn?t take the risk, we didn?t succeed to find the well of water that was in the map and then were only five men left. but when we almost lose hope Umbopa saw the good well and we all ran to him drank and fill our bottles of water to the road.
after a few days we could already see sheba?s breasts in our prospect line and a few days later we met some men from the Kukuana tribe and they brought us to their king, tawla, at the beginning they wanted to kill us but when Sir henry persuade them that we are wizards, by showing them our piece of metal that can kill a dear from 30 meter by voice (a pistol), they were afraid of us even though they had witches that were a lot more scary then our pistols.
Umbopa was our translator end he did all the talking so while Umbopa was talking to them
we were looking to the mines and when we came back we saw Umbopa sitting on a big chair and served by the natives, Umbopa explained us that he recovered that he is the true king of the Kukuans and twala the false king expelled his mother so he could be the king and now he I attempt to heart him with his men and get the king?s chair again.
since Umbopa was the king Solomon?s treasure was belong to him but only one old witch
called gagool knew were is the treasure, so we decided to fight to Umbopa and take gagool and force her to tell as were is the treasure hides. in the next day we fought against twala with Umbopa?s men we lost all most half people then we started with but eventually we won.
gagool was taken and forced to show us the cave of the treasure. while we going after her she is murmuring and cursing and shouting things to afraid us, she sad: ?here is your diamonds, diamonds of death, here is your diamonds you can drink them and eat them and bread them.
she took us to an under ground cave end their were the diamonds we couldn?t believe to what we see , we were so excited that we didn?t saw gagool is running away and locking us in the cave with out food and light. now I under stood way she said: you can eat them and drink and bread them. but we were escape eventually almost dead found by some white good hunters that be came later between the most reach people in the world like us. :)
