Publicidade
Hamlet was the prince of Denmark. When he came back after his studies to his homeland he found that his uncle married his mother and became the king. Depressed by the loss of his father and disturbed by the incest marriage of his mother, Hamlet feels hatred towards the whole world especially towards woman hood.

Things starts to turn around when the ghost of Hamlet's father appears before Hamlet's two friends when they were guarding the castle of the king. Hamlet now gets doubtful regarding the 'normal' death of his father when his friends bring before him some uncertain revealations made by the ghost of Hamlet's father. When Hamlet gets a chance to meet the apparition of his father, he gets dumbfounded when he knows that his father was killed by his uncle so as to get the throne. The former king requests his son to avenge his death, which Hamlet swears to do.

The gloomy nature of Hamlet makes his uncle, King Claudius suspicious of his nephew. Feared by the fact that his uncle may kill him if he has any suspicion, Hamlet feignes madness. But the person who was affected the most by Hamlet's depression and feigned madness was his lover, court jesture's daughter, Ophelia. The harsh words of Hamlet about women makes Ophelia thinks Hamlet has lost his senses and does not love her anymore.

One day when Hamlet was having a heated talk with his mother, Queen Gertrude about her incest marriage the court jesture, Ophelia's father, Polonius was being hidden behind a curtain in the Queen's room so as to eavesdrop their conversation. A slight stir behind the curtain, makes Hamlet doubtful, that it was the king who was behind it, and of because of a sudden urge for desire, he slays the person behind the curtain with his sword. The loss of her father and the rejected love of Hamlet, makes Ophelia mad. In her madness, she gets drowned when trying to pick some flowers on the river bank. Thus Ophelia comes to a tragic end.

Now the king gets doubtful about Hamlet's behaviour and he calls upon Polonius's son, Laertes, to avenge his father's death. He will ask Hamlet for a friendly fencing or sword fight. King Claudius, anoint the sword given to Laertes with a deadly poison. He also decides on an alternative to kill Hamlet, in case the former plan fails. He plants poison in a glass of wine to celebrate the victory of Hamlet, in case if it happens. Unfortunately, the queen is the one who becomes a victim to the wine poison and Hamlet gets poisoned by the sword. When he realised he had been cheated, Hamlet forcefully gets the sword from Laertes and slews the king with it. Thus the tragic story of Hamlet comes to end with the death of Hamlet and the downfall of the king and queen.
