Man And His Symbols
(Carl Jung)

Publicidade
Man is a symbolic animal. And symbols are universal for humanity. People of every culture, age, religion and region connect instinctively to the world of symbols. Carl Jung as editor, in his classic Man and His Symbols, has facilitated a thorough study of man in relation to the world of symbols.

The unconscious is the world of rich insights and self-knoweldge for a person. Man has a personal unconscious and more importantly, a collective unconscious which one shares with the whole race and creation at large, an unconscious which knows no time, but is eternal. This unconcious communicates itself through dreams which are nothing but symbols. A study of the dreams helps one and even humanity at large, to know oneself and become transformed. The unconscious has to be approached as a friend and beneficiary who has a wealth of knowledge that help us individuate into whole persons. The symbols which are universal are embedded in the various ancient myths, and modern rituals, visual art forms and literature. The book ends with a discussion on the science and the unconscious.
