Resumo de Who Is Ryder?

Who is Ryder? was the name of a five-piece rock group from Edinboro, Pennsylvania. A current staple of the Erie-area music scene, the band has played extensively in Pennsylvania and is routing an east-coast tour in the summer of 2005. The group has been together in its current state since the summer of 2003 and has released two well-received EPs and one two track demo. The band has performed live on Edinboro University's WFSE. Although the band has had many lineup changes and several lengthy periods of inactivity, plans have been made to record a debut, full-length album before the end of 2005.

History
During the Christmas season of 2001, Etzel, Edwards, and George decided to form a basement band following a performance by Weezer at the Cleveland State University Convocation Center. Edwards played drums, Etzel played bass using borrowed equipment, and George, fresh out of the band formerly known as Kop Killah, played guitar. After several months of playing primarily covers and struggling to create an identity(or even a name), Edwards was forced to recuse himself from the band for personal reasons, and Etzel and George decided it was time to expand their horizons. The duo brought in Gribbin and Burt and slowly began developing original material. The band, still nameless at this point, played a battle of the bands at General McLane High School and afterwards became inactive. Edwards rejoined the group over the summer and a backyard show was played. After one more brief departure, Edwards finally rejoined the group in 2003 and the lineup has solidified. Unfortunately, the band disbanded late 2005, but four members not including Charlie Edwards have formed a new group known as Ballast & Anchor.
Style
Drawing from indie rock acts like Piebald, Texas is the Reason, and Sunny Day Real Estate, the band has fused elements of rock, hardcore, and punk into their own unique blend of guitar-driven music. Rising out of the remnants of a once nationally recognized hardcore scene in Erie, Who is Ryder? has tried, sometimes unsuccessfully, to keep a delicate balance between heavy and popular music.
