The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy
(Douglas Adams)

Publicidade
Arthur Dent, dull human of about thirty wakes up one Thursday to discover that everything he knew has gone. His best friend is not from Guilford after all, but a small planet somewhere in the vicinity of Betelgeuse, and a poetically challenged race of intergalactic bureaucrats has destroyed the Earth to make way for a space bypass. Not only that but he is on the run with the former president of the galaxy, a manically depressed robot and a girl that he failed to get off with at a party in Islington.
So begins the tale of one of the most remarkable books ever created. More accessible than the Encyclopedia Galatica and with the words ?Don?t Panic? on the cover in large friendly letters, Douglas Adams presents The Hitchhiker?s Guide To The Galaxy.
The Hitchhiker?s Guide To The Galaxy is part space comedy, part philosophical debate and part cult phenomenon. It is a story that manages to twist just about every thought that you ever had and replace them with a small yellow fish. Human beings are only the third most intelligence race on the planet, after white mice and dolphins, and the Earth?s only mark on the universe is a two word phrase; mostly harmless.
Having first blown away the egotistical views of the reader Adams then burns their brains so hard that they will randomly order ole janx spirit in the pub afterwards.
The Hitchhiker?s Guide is an institution. It is also a fantastic ride through the universe that raises several important points: why is the ultimate answer 42? What is the ultimate question? What happened to Zaphod? And why doesn?t this book have an ending?
