Value of friendship

Once there lived two friends. They were so close friends from their childhood. One of them was Nelson and other one was Johnson. Though they were dear friends their individual character varied a lot. Johnson followed simple way of living whereas Nelson always tried to show that he was the rich person. Both of them were working in the same company .Both of them also got married at their appropriate age. When Johnson got married, He got promotion also. However he maintained simplicity, and was so economical and leading well planned life. He had never bought any luxurious domestic wares or costly and extravagant materials. As he had interest in writing also he could earn some money by writing to magazines, newspapers etc., He was saving money as far as possible. Whenever he happened to meet personally Nelson at his home he advise him about the importance of saving money and the value of simplicity which was totally ignored by Nelson.

One day, Nelson?s four years old son suffered with severe fever and Nelson took him to doctor. The child was admitted in a costly hospital. Subsequently Doctors did various check ups and scans and finally it was diagnosed that he was affected with some rare virus fever within which time accumulated expenses came to a considerable level. Nelson could not settle the bill and other expenses and suffered a lot. Finally he felt sorry for his past attitude of buying many things unwantedly.. Once he had bought a costly two wheeler even when it was not required as his company was only walk able distance from his house.

He came to Johnson and asked his help to buy his vehicle, cell phone and other few things and give money against them. Johnson consoled him and paid the total bill. He also took care all through the time till the child recovered. He did not buy the things that were offered by his friend. When his friend asked the reason for his refusal, he simply answered, true friendship reaches its highest position when it could change the other one?s mistakes and reforms him. He said that he had achieved in it. After achieving his goal those worldly objects had no value. When Nelson heard this he hugged his friend and thanked God for having given him as his friend.
