Psalms
(The Bible)

Publicidade
The writer confesses in Psalm 45 that he is fully inspired to come up with a piece on the Lord's Anointed. He starts by saying that the Lord's Anointed stands head and shoulders above other men, when it comes to character or spiritual standing. Being totally gracious, He is given to uttering words that ignite hope in the lives of people. As a result of these things, the Almighty has adorned Him with glory, honour and majesty because God considers that it is only right to do so.

The other qualities that have endeared Him to God include truth, humility and righteousness. These things set Him apart and as a result, the Lord God has raised Him above all to hold sway over all. He will be the king, armed with the truth, who will rule in righteousness. It is only in the kingdom of this righteous One that perfection will be given full expression.

This righteous king will overcome His enemies and all those who purpose to stand up to Him He will put down decisively because the scepter of His kingdom was given to Him by God. He will rule and reign unchallenged and unmolested from coast to coast forever and ever.

Moreover, He is taking out a people for Himself who will be His bride. They will be a people of power. For those who have heard His voice and who want to be among His people, He urges them to be steadfast and single-minded. The writer counsels anyone privileged to be counted among such people, ' Listen, O daughter, consider and incline your ear; Forget............' These people are urged to yield themselves to this king because they will live as His subjects forever. These are the people referred to when the passage says, ' Therefore, the people shall praise you forever and ever.'
