?Romeo and Juliet? is a famous play by Shakespeare. The story takes place in Verona in Italy, hundreds of years ago. There are two families in the town who are always fighting each other ? the Capulets and the Montagues. Sometimes people are killed in the fights. One night Juliet Capulet and Romeo Montague meet at dance?
She is so beautiful Romeo said to himself when he saw Juliet. He walked up and asked her to dance. They danced together all evening. While they danced they looked into each other?s eyes. I?m in love Romeo thought but I don?t know her surname.
He?s wonderful, Juliet said to a friend at the dance. What?s he called, I wonder?
The dance ended and they said goodnight. As people left the dance Romeo asked a friend about Juliet.
She?s Capulet the friend answered. One of the family you are always fighting. Romeo?s face went white. At the same time Juliet learnt that Romeo?s surname was Montague.
Later that night Romeo went to Juliet?s house. He looked up at Juliet?s window and saw her there.
My family will kill you if they see you Juliet said.
I don?t care Romeo answered.
He looked up at Juliet and said I love you and want to marry you.
I love you too Juliet answered.
The next day Romeo and Juliet got married in secret. Then Juliet went back to her family. On his way home, Romeo saw a fight between the Montagues and Capulets. He started fighting and in the fight he killed Juliet?s cousin.
What can I do? Romeo said. Juliet will hate me for ever.
While Romeo was fighting, Juliet?s mother had a surprise for her. You are getting married tomorrow, her mother said. We have found a good husband for you. His name is Paris.
Romeo is the only person I want to marry Juliet replied. Her father got angry and shouted at her You?re marrying Count Paris tomorrow!
Juliet was terribly unhappy, so she took a sleeping drug. Everyone thought she was dead. Romeo heard about Juliet and went to see her. When he saw her body he said I don?t want to live any more. He kissed her goodbye and killed himself with a knife.
Then Juliet woke up from her deep sleep and found Romeo dead beside her. She picked up Romeo?s knife and killed herself.
