When Charles Dickens was a child he was sent to work at a blacking factory. Dispite this when he became a young man he learned steno himself and got a job. His next job was at a newspaper. That same newspaper published his first book, the Pickwick Papers.

All of Charles Dickens stories deal with kids on some level. He suffered with the pain of his childhood, all his life, until one day, he found some kids huddled beneath some rags. Then he knew even though what he had been through, he had to help, kids, especially orphans.
