Harry Potter And The Half-blood Prince
(J.K. Rowling)

Publicidade
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (English version).
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the 6th in the line of Harry Potter books, and we are again invited into his stay at at the Hogwart school of wizards and magic. In this book, Harry is growing up, and that is noticeable in the mood of the text. There are hormones in the air, and the different couples are truly set in character in this book. The book is also very violent, and the descriptions are rougher compared to the earlier books - e.g. there is a description of how Harry breaks his nose, where as in the earlier books, he would simply wake up in the hospital ward. The book also retains the illusion that the age in which Harry is, is the right age in which to read it.
The style is typical of Rowling, and there is also a lot of her humour in it. One should be very proficient in English to read this book, as some of it is hard to understand, but if you are, then there are also a lot of opportunities to smile, even though it doesn't seem like it. Rowling has a very special way of including humour into the story, because she doesn't emphasize the fun things, they are run through quietly. There is a pace and a nerve in this book that gives a good rollercoaster sensation, with a very late "point of no return". A lot of loose ends are being finished off in this book, and compared to the other books, few are made. She finishes some things that will leave traces, both backwards to the other books and to future ones, and one feels inspired to read the books again, as there are new info coming all the time. The book is 30 chapter, a little over 600 pages and can be ver hard to read in Danish, so I would suggest that children who are not very proficient wait till October - it is extreme even for a project. If you want to read Harry Potter in order to learn English, I suggest one start with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
