Storm Riders
(Craig Lesley)

Publicidade
Last month I had the good fortune to pick up another of Craig Lesley's novels, Storm Riders. Like all of Lesley's novels---this is the story of ordinary people. They could be your neighbors, your coworkers--or they could be you.

Lesley presents the story of a man, Clark Wood, who makes a committment to a foster child, Wade, with his first wife. The child is from the same native Alaska people has his first wife and, in fact his wife and foster son are cousins of a sort. When Clark's wife walks out and the marriage dissolves, Clark doubles his commitment to Wade.

Wade was a troubled child from the beginning. Damaged from fetal alcohol syndrome, he suffers from lack of impulse control and never really learns to read or write.

The novel is the story of the heartache and struggle of loving and raising such a child; of the sacrifices personal and professional Clark Wood would make to give this child a satisfying life
