SUMMARY

This is the story of a little girl, born in a large family, in the old land of Thracia, in the mythological place of Orpheus, the legendary singer and priest. This is also the story of an old woman who lives life similar to that of a nun until she met her true love at the end of her life. The child is with inquisitive brain and iron logics on human existence. Political events with their inevitably cruelty and non the less shocking with infidelity and incest family stories, described with vivacity in the book, convulse the child?s soul. For the forth child of a prolific family the fate holds in store worries and duties about relatives and non relatives and she accomplishes them with peace of mind as if given from God. Since a child she faces the afflictions of life, the responsibility for the youngest of the family. Her maidenhood is marked by this heavy burden, later by unhappy marriage. Growing up to a married woman she becomes more judicious and wiser. The heroine is an earth-bound, but selfless woman, ready to help even when she is not asked to. Her life is based on these human values. It is full of mistakes, but with the time she becomes more critical to herself. She follows with sense of humour the brusque adversities of human existence and surprisingly discovers the comic in its tragic moments. The good in life is rare, vicissitudes expecting her are much more. Owing to circumstances beyond her control she has to experience a long matrimonial life without romantic feelings. Due to the profession of the husband, their relationship is never filled with sentimental contents. This makes her embarrassed, shameful and inaccessible. However she remains careful and kind to him to his death. Then political events in her country, followed after the Iron wall demolition, change brusquely her everyday monotonous life. Two cultures and completely different traditions of the mercantile West and of the till then blocked up by the Iron Wall East interfere. The most unexpected happens, she is struck by an absurd and shocking sexual experience reaching the limits of fornication and debauchery. The long years of widowhood are the most peaceful period of her life, but just at the end, fate prepares again unforeseen severe trials ? an encounter with true deep love and at the same time with irrational relationship that a woman could ever have. This encounter is related with deep feelings she experiences, but does her lover has any? This pornographic story reveals at the same time normal, nice human feelings and human values, rarely mutual, true love rarely shared and hardly believable to occur during the human beings? short sojourn on this world.
