"Dreamer" focuses on the lives of a handful of individuals whose lives entertwine in an attempt to save a plane of existance known as the Dream. The story reads beautifully, developing full characters and creating vivid descriptions of cities, space, and planets. Mr. Harper manages to transition between characters and places with a flawless flow of inner thoughts and actions, consistently surprising the reader around every bend. He handles topics including family, isloation, political slavery, and war with an emotional touch that holds the reader in an awareness beyond that of the main characters. Recommended for newcomers and seasoned fantasy readers alike, this book is an enjoyable and thought-provoking look at timeless struggles.
