Jonah, Book Of The Bible
(JONAH, GOD (ann patterson))

Publicidade
Jonah was on a  ship to run away from God?s assignment to him.  Then the ship was in a storm and the shipmen found Jonah and believed that he was the cause.  Sure enough, after he told him that he was running from God, they wanted to get rid of him.  He told them to throw him into the sea after they could not get to land.  Finally, after they cast him overboard, they felt guilty before God.

A big fish caught Jonah and Jonah Finally called unto God begging to be where God wanted him to be.  He prayed that he would sacrifice to God and the Lord answered and then God had the fish to belch him out.

As God had told him, Jonah went to Nevenah and they heard God?s word from him and they did not hear at first, so he mourned, and the people were also to mourn in sackcloth and ashes and then they repented unto God.

Jonah was angry that God did not answer as he had expected God to do so, he scolded God and asked for death.  God asked him doest well to be angry?

Then Jonah went out and sat to think then God let a vine grow to shade him, and the gourds from the vine was eaten by a worm that He also sent.

Jonah called on God to save Neneveh.  God answered that he would because Jonah finally had done what he was told to do.

(Some  who believe that everything in the Bible is literal, not figurative or symbolic or allegorical, say that it was really a fish, but others have an opposite explanation for what the symbol of the fish actually was.)
