Weronica Decides To Die

You can die for many reasons... You die not to stop existing but to change something, to live in other way, Coelho says. But what's the sufficient reason to take the pills, or cut your veins and what will happen later? Will there be any 'later'?The main character of the story is Weronika - a youn girl who believes that anything good can happen to her. In her opinion the life she had became boring as an old tuna... Bored of life she commits suicide. She is a woman, so she doesn't cut the veins to not make a mess in the romm, she doesn't jump from a high building in Lublana to not force her parents to identify her after she dies... The only way are the pills - a little romantic way - in a little rented room, with a light music on. Weronika doesn't do it because of love or misery. She does it just because. She becomes the one who survived and she goes to the psychiatric hospital where she learns how to live again, breath fully, love by all her body, love herself, life and others. The hospital, full of fools becomes for her a sign of her return or maybe rather a rebirth. Her life becomes "tabula rasa". Now when she understood tahat the most simple ways aren't always the best.. Weronika, not really sure of her actions, is looking for a sense of her life in the whitewards and discussions with others in hospital. Her way of thinking changes. Coelho wrote an incredible book which is as breathing - you are taking it into heart not thinking about it! But it also makes us think about our life, decisions and choices. Because everybody sometimes complains about the sense of life.... "Be crazy but behave as average people... Whta it it "the real Me?" - Weronika asked - that what you are, not what they made you to be..."
