The Bible is the number one best-seller of all time. Is it meresuperstition?the uninspired work of men? Or is it simply Hebrew and Greekliterature?perhaps only useful as a history book? The Bible purports to be theWord of God. Must its authority be accepted on faith? Can its divine authoritybe demonstrated? Here is proof of the Bible! The Bible has been called the book of books and has long been the world?sbest seller. Most people have one?and the family Bibleis a cherishedpossession in many households. Our family Bible dates to the mid-to-late 1700s.Then why does this best-selling book remain a mystery to so many?with feweven professing to understand it? And why is it that most Bibles areused as a showpiece, lying unopened, gathering dust? Many actively try todiscredit the Bible, while others treat it with passive indifference. Stillothers hold it in awe?believing on faith that it is divinely inspired. Theyseem to require no proof of this, yet lack the necessary conviction to trulybelieve and practice its words in times of great stress and personal trial.But can one actually prove the Bible? This is a huge question! Justas most never seek to prove the existence of God, most never concernthemselves with proving the authority of the Bible. They either have nointerest in such proof or they assume there is none?that it cannot be done!What about you? Have you taken the time to seek actual, tangible proof of the Bible?s authority? As with the existenceof God, have you been taught that you must accept iton faith? Most peopleare never challenged to find real proof that the Bible is the inspired record ofa Supreme Being. Circumstances rarely force people to undertake such atask. This is probably the single biggest reason that most never does. While Iregularly ?went to church? when growing up, I was never required, nor feltcompelled, to prove either that God exists or that He authored the Bible. Norwas any proof of these ever given or offered to me! And not one person eversuggested to me that I should even be concerned with proving the answers tothese two looming questions.Stop and think for a moment! Let?s apply basic logic.What kind of God would write an Instruction Book about how to live, commandthat it be followed as His Word and then offer no proof that it is? It insultswhoever is God to even believe Him capable of such inconsistency?and unfairness!On what basis would He?or even could He?require obedience to such anInstruction Book, if He left no proofs that it was authentic?
