Performed lobe Theatre between 1605 and 1606 this play written by William Shakespeare is a tragedy in five acts and was published for the first time in 1623. The play is about Macbeth?s seizing of power and his subsequent destruction.Both rise and fall are the result of blind ambition. Macbeth was a general serving King Duncan, king os Scotland.Macbeth meets three witches who tell him profetically that he will become king and also that Banquo, another general, will betray kings.The circumstances seem to follow the profecy.Macbeth tells his wife about the profecy and she plots the murderer of the king, when he visits the castle in Dunsinane. Following his wife?s idea, Macbeth kills Duncan. The murder is discovered and fearing for their lives, Duncan?s sons leave the country, thus becoming suspected of having murdered their father.Macbeth becomes king as the witches had told him. Still worried about the profecy, Macbeth decided to kill Banquo, but Banquo?s son escapes.Macbet is haunted by Banquo?s ghost and guilt leads Lady Macbeth into madness.When Macbeth finds out that Macduff is joining Malcom?s army,Macbeth orders the slaughter of his whole family.Lady Macbeth dies and Macbeth is killed by Macduff. Malcom becomes king, as was his right
