Claire Castillon remains for all her readers and followers an enigma; there is a young woman, out-fashioned, surrounded by various realities whilst living in her very own distinct reality, she does not belong to the same generation as us but has given birth toa masterpiece, something funny, about a woman who believes her husband is cheating on her, a woman who is not afraid to come out and say that she can't bear her mother when this one becomesill with cancer and she would rather see her buried; she is not afraid to say things as they are, miss Castillon is not afraid to treat sufferings with disdain, to barefeelings one usually wants to keep hidden, fear, rage, desire to be the only one in her husband's affections, to go against the politically correct and admit that no, I don't actually love my child and sometimes I would like to throw him out of the window; and yes, my mother is so frustrating with her never ending suffering, her tiredness, her constant self-pitying. Claire Castillon has the prodigious ability to keep us waiting and wanting for more, to let us hate and love secretly, to make us laugh when we should be crying ou get angry;this young womanis at the same time hard and strong, she grabs life and presents it to us without hiding any part of it, without lies or paraboles, without naivety either, but with strength and some magic she actually turns suffering into joy and life uneasiness into well being. This is highly recommended reading to all black humor lovers, bearing in mind there is more black than humor, but so much attractive.
