The Da Vinci Code
(Dan Brown)

Publicidade
Its an attention grabbing novel such that it makes its readers go through an out of the world experience. The narration of the facts follow a well planned chronology and readers are introduced to the amazing factual details, presented in a form of a spellbinding story. As you read the beautifully set narration pattern you start personifying the characters, background and the brilliantly described architectural designs. Each line of the novel ends with an interesting information such that it creates a sense of mystery and forces the booklover to go on. Different signs and symbols used in ancient history and their respective meanings have been explained in a very logical manner. The writer, ?Dan Brown? provides a comprehensive view of every thing he talks about, which actually gives the reader an opportunity to add something to his/er knowledge and analyze the facts being narrated, and henceforth forcing the reader to differentiate between the truth and fiction. Since it?s a fiction based particularly upon a religious issue, it has attracted millions towards it, as religion is something used by people to guide their lifestyle and forms the major essence of their life decorum. The books talks about the secret organizations namely Opus Dei and the Priory of Sion, famous painting ?The Last Supper?, by Leonardo Da Vinci, the secret codes hidden in this painting, ?The Holy Blood? , ?The Holy Grail? and the conspiracy whose motive was to hide the descendants of Jesus Christ. This book also introduces people to a defined set of theological beliefs that restricted women in participate and interfere in the workings of church. The ?Da Vinci code? talks about Mary Magdelene having Jesus' child and that child becoming part of the Merovingian dynasty. Dan Brown being an art historian, seems to have done an in depth research on the subject and the creative description of the several hidden truths mentioned in the book make it sound authentic. Also Dan Brown has named real peoples' names, and gave backgrounds on real, actual organizations, which adds to the element of authenticity. I feel that book was in so much of controversy because of some serious claims about what the church has done in the past and what it is doing in the present. On the whole it?s an interesting account that makes you aware of and gives you the sense of life and mysteries related to past.
