¥2,300-starting Wage For Beijing High-schools' Graduates On Average

(Xinhua Net)BEIJING,3rd, Dec. -- A survey on 14,000 graduates of this yearfrom 26 colleges and universities made by Guiding Centre of High-school Graduates of Beijing said, from academy graduates to doctor degree holders, the average starting wage is around ¥2,300.An interviewee of the Northern Investment Group Co., Ltd.Xiao Zhaoset his expecting wage ¥1,000 with his lips tightly bitten when answering the question "How much isyour expecting wage?" As we can see from the 40 more resumes on the desk, most of the interviewees applying for ?sales? positions set their starting wage between 1,000 and 1,500. However, the interviewers themselves figured out that wage should be higher in these positions.?University graduates nowadays have much less questions about salaries,? said an interviewer of ICBC (Industrial and Commercial Bank of China) Beijing Branch, ?they are becoming more and more rational and considers more about their promotion and training opportunities, etc.? It is referred that the disparity of University graduates? wages is becoming larger: from less than 1,000 to over 10,000. At the same time, it is common that difference of wage exists from major to major, for instance, economy, IT, finance and other majors enjoy a higher standard of wage.As is reported in Beijing Morning, a stat. from the committee of education of Beijing shows that the amount of university graduates is gradually rising year by year: with less than 150,000 in 2005 and 170,000 in 2006, over 200,000 can be implied, including 50,000 more of postgraduates.
