Publicidade
If the two different amounts of muriatic acid corroded the metals with the same timing, then the fumes must work the same way no matter what the different is if it is a fair amount. Finding this information out can help anyone working with this chemical. They can learn to put this acid in a safe location, taking proper precautions causing no casualties. The different amounts of muriatic acid is the independent variable because it is what is being tested. The different amounts of muriatic acid is what supposed to change the time it took for the metals to rust, the time it took the metals to rust is the dependent variable. The experiment was conducted by measuring a cup of muriatic acid, which is 245mL, three times and placing them in three different cups, then putting them at their assigned locations.Thesame was done with 1/2 a cup of muriatic acid, which is 123mL. The percentage of how it rusted was recorded after 1, 3, and 5 days. After finishing the experient, the conclusion showed that the differentamounts of the acid did not make a different, because of the violent fumes.
