US$36.5 million investment in premium service worldwide

DUBAI , U.A.E., 28th October 2006 ? Emirates Airlineyesterdayinaugurated its latest dedicated airport lounge at London Heathrow ? its fourth to be launched in four weeks following the opening of similar passenger facilities in Singapore , Hong Kong and Melbourne earlier this month. These luxuriously-appointed lounges are part of the airline's US$36.5 million investment to establish its own signature lounge facilities at key airports around its global network.Officiating the opening at London Heathrow were Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline; The Mayor and Mayoress of Hillingdon, Councillor David Routledge and Mrs Janet Routledge; Tony Douglas, CEO BAA Heathrow; invited guests and airport officials.Mr. Clark said: "We are investing top dollar to provide our premium passengers and frequent flyers with an exclusive area to rest and refresh while travelling. The Emirates Lounges are an integral aspect of our product and service strategy. Combined with our industry-leading inflight amenities and complimentary chauffeur-drive service, the Emirates Lounges enable us to provide our premium passengers with a superior overall travel experience."Response from customers has been extremely positive. With the opening of our latest lounge in Heathrow, the combined capacity of all dedicated Emirates Lounges worldwide can accommodate nearly 3,000 passengers at any one time. We are still looking to introduce lounge facilities to five more cities in the medium term, to meet demand on our high-traffic business routes." The first Emirates Lounge outside of the airline's Dubai base was launched in Auckland in February 2005,and since thenEmirates has opened an average of one new lounge across its network every two months.Besides its three lounges in Dubai, Emirates haslaunched 13 other lounges in key cities across its network over the past18 months- Auckland, Brisbane, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Melbourne, Munich, Paris Charles De Gaulle, Perth, New York JFK, Singapore and Sydney. Emirates Lounges currently in development include Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok , while the current lounge in Auckland is undergoing expansion. At most other departure points across its network of over 80 destinations worldwide, Emirates passengers have the use of alternative lounge facilities.All Emirates Lounges feature a business centre with individual work stations and complimentary broadband and wireless LAN access. Emirates Airport Services staff manage the lounge at all times, while on-site chefs ensure passengers have a wide selection of food and beverages round-the-clock featuring both hot and cold dishes. The dining area also offers a full bar service, including champagne. Signature touches consistent throughout all Emirates Lounges worldwide include: Italian marble finishes, high quality leather for lounges sourced from Scotland , gold-plated Rolex wall clocks from Geneva , designer bathrooms and showers. Passengers can also enjoy the latest news and lifestyle programmes from a selection of global channels on plasma-screen TVs, and in Dubai , unwind on massage chairs.Emirates' lounge facilities serve the airline's First and Business Class passengers, as well as Gold members of Skywards - the frequent flyer programme of Emirates and SriLankan Airlines.
