How did man reach the Man Reach the Moon

In 1969 an
American,Neil Armstrong became the First Man to set to at
on theMoon Getting him there had taken of work by thousand
of people and manymillions of dollars. The way the flight
was made in launching was made in launching rocket had
three stages when each stage had used up its fuel it
dropped away to lighten the rocket, and themotors of next
stage started. The third satage put it into orbit around
the earth. Then the rocket motors were fired again
thrusting the ship away from the earth towards the
moon,3,8,000km(237,500 miles) away,as it fired its motors
to slow down and went into robit around the moon. Next the
space shipsplit into two parts. The ?Command module?with
its pilot started in orbit. The little lunar excursin
module or ?LEM?slowed itself down with its rocket and fell
down towards the moon. As it came in toland it used its
motors to brake and hores so it could land gently. The two
astronauts stepped out on to the moon intheir space suits,
the first man ever to walk there! To take after again the
LEM needed onlyits own small rocket motors. This was
because the moons gravity is much less than the earth?s it
lcimbed up into the same orbit as the Command module
and ?docket?with it. The two astronauts climnbed back
intothe command module and the LEM separated and was left
behind in the ship then accelerated back towards the
earth. Foe ?re-entry in to the atmosphere the crew used
just the nose-section of the ship this had a thick hear-
sheild because of frictin as it plunged through the
atmosphere parachutes opened to slow it down before ?splash-
down inot pacific ocean. There helicopters were waiting to
pick up the astronauts after the longest journey ion man?s
history?
