I. Hosea

In the Book of Hosea, the Lord God tells Hosea to marry and that his wife and children would represent Israel. God tells Hosea that Israel is no longer His people and He is not their God. israel is to be restored. there is a description of God's love for Israel likening it to a man's love for his wife. the Lord God accuses Israel and the priests and condemns pagan worship. Hosea warns against idolatry. War occurs between Israel and Judah. The people repent insincerely and The Lord condemns Israel for idol worship. Hosea announces God's punishment for Israel. There are several records of god's judgments on Israel and Judah. Hosea peleads with his people to return to God and repent of their sins and the Lord God promises a new life for Israel.
