Hamlet
(William Shakespeare)

Publicidade
Hamlet, the prince of Denmark, embarks on an emotional roller-coaster of death, betrayal, incest, insanity and murder.
After his mother, Gertrude, marries his uncle, Claudius, soon after the death of his father the King, Hamlet's reaction is none too obvious, that he is not entirely happy about the situation, and he refuses to cease mourning his natural father, now two months dead. This series of events spurs him to see the ghost of his father in the woods, outside the castle, along with the guards who pointed out the phenomenon. Hamlets best friend Horatio, says that the King must have an important message for him and persuades him to wait the next night for the King to appear once again.
The apparition indeed appears again and the King tells Hamlet of the suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and the part his brother, Hamlets uncle had to play in it. Seducing his mother and together plotting to murder the King with poison two months ago.
With this new information, Hamlet tries to prove the guilt of his Uncle and the betrayal of his mother by marrying him, but with this comes some grave incidents that only add to the bloody tragedy.
During Hamlets quest for truth and justice, his beloved Ophelia is driven to insanity. Rejected by a pre-occupied and suspicious Hamlet, who believes that everyone in the castle is a spy, working for Claudius to prove his insanity. Which added to the fact that Ophelia is unable to cope with the murder of her father, Polonius (Claudius' chief counsellor), Ophelia's sanity soon leads to her demise, in one of the most moving scenes in shakespeares tragedys.
This play is packed with paranoia and suspicion, hatred and love, life and death, and as in any shakespear tragedy, an impact with the force of raging bull concludes the tale. Leaving you wander who exactly is still alive at the end of this macabre play.
