Wyrd Sisters
(Terry Pratchet)

Publicidade
The 'Wyrd Sisters' of the title are three witches: the hard as nails Granny Weatherwax; the young at heart Nanny Ogg and the soppy hippy that is Magrat Garlick. The trio live and do their magic in the small country Kingdom of Lancre on Terry Pratchett's inspired 'Discworld.' This is a world where humans live and work with trolls and dwarves. Where fantasy and magic are not just words, they are the everyday.

Pratchett's 'Discworld' series has attracted many fans over the years and Wyrd Sisters remains a great favourite of the collection.

It tells the tale of a murdered king. The land he once governed finds his untimely death so abhorrent that it begins to turn on the usurpers. Sensitive to the cycles of nature and her beasts, the witches must set out to reinstate the proper heir to the throne. The task takes them on a journey through time and to the sprawling city-state of Ankh-Morpork. Here they discover that the magic of the theatre can be just as potent as the magic of the land. And that, sometimes, all you need in life, is a man who can make you laugh?
This is a charming, hilarious book. Not only does it fit snugly into the fantasy genre, but it is so comfortable there that it can poke gentle fun at it. The modern world and all its silliness is also subjected to a good ribbing. As with all great fantasy work, the exploration of monsters and magic is actually an examination of human nature and how we structure our world.

Wyrd Sisters is a fabulous novel; so well written and 'real' you'll want to keep the book on your shelf and the characters in your heart.
