Ivy's Dilemma (thy Will Be Done)
(Reign)
You will never forget Ivy's Dilemma! I was fortunate enough to be given an advance reader's copy of Ivy's Dilemma. I was hooked from the first paragraph. The action begins as soon as you start reading, and it never lets up. Here is the gist of the story: Ivy and Raymond Miller have been married for eleven years. Ray's a professional football player. And Ivy's a stay-at-home wife and mother who supports him in everything he does. He and Ivy lived next door to each other growing up, and in a sweet gesture when he was ten, Ray asked Ivy to be his girlfriend. They were sweethearts from that point on, and when Ray got a scholarship to play football, he would not leave without Ivy. They were married just before they went away to college. Eleven years later, Ray has won many awards as a football player. Their life together appears enchanted to those looking on, but it's not. Ray became addicted to painkillers due to an injury, and from there he tried heroin and got hooked. Try as he might, he couldn't shake his addiction. His behavior becomes abusive and erratic. He begins cheating on Ivy. Ivy knows what is going on, but she wants to save her marriage. She wants to save Ray. But several stays in a rehabilitation center does Ray no good. One day, out of the blue, he announces to Ivy, 'I want you to divorce me.' Ivy is stunned. But he tells her he isn't going to change. So she has no other recourse except to divorce him. However, before she can even file the papers, Ray is involved in a tragic car accident, and that's when the drama really gets going! Ivy must deal with her anger at being treated so badly by Ray. Rage colors her every decision until the most terrible thing that could ever happen to her happens: Ray dies. Secrets are revealed. She learns why Ray behaved the way that he did. As she learns everything, she begins to change, to see why all of these devastating things have befallen her. Ivy's Dilemma is so compelling, you won't want to put it down once you pick it up. The supporting characters: Ivy's parents, her parents-in-law, her girlfriends, Jade, Sheena, and Miranda, will all remind you of someone you know. You will laugh, you will cry, you will cheer the characters on. And you will never forget it.
