Dolores Claiborne
(Stephen King)

Publicidade
Dolores Claiborne is a phenomenal woman. She works, more often than not, on two jobs, takes care of her three children and in an attempt to keep her family together, takes a bit too much from her husband. Tirelessly she strives to overcome her position as a poor wife and mother and seeks to provide a better life for her children; sometimes through the opposition of her husband. Although Dolores commits a heinous crime, she makes sure that she is seen in a true light. She is true to herself and to all those around her. As she tells her story in the presence of two detective waiting to pounce and cut her off from her family, she makes sure that the only crime she is accused of is the one that she committed. She confesses completely to an earlier crime in order to clear her name of the death of another person, she solely had contact with. Although Dolores is full of integrity, and becomes a rich woman, she maintains that all she needs is what she already has. Her children were successful and she had enough money to live on. Any more than she had was wasteful. Like all phenomenal women, Dolores realized the important things in life and refused to accept any less than she deserved. She never intended to have to fight for the right to have a decent life, but in the end she had no choice. She realizes that in order for her family to survive, she must take (make) a sacrifice. Dolores Claiborne is the wife, mother, worker, and friend (minus her issues) that every woman has deep within her. Even her issues may hold a place within all women if they are pushed hard enough.

A simple word of advice concerning all of the Dolores Claibornes that are quietly sleeping, try not to awaken them. But if you fail and she arises, beware of the simple sweet offerings that has never appeared before.
