On a business trip in London, Sandy receives a call from his wife informing him that her father has just suffered a massive stroke and his prognosis is not good. Unsure as to what awaits him back home, Sandy boards a plane for New York City.

Sitting next to him is a stranger all too eager for conversation. The two men hit it off instantly. They sit and talk casually as they down one too many drinks and watch the movie, ?Strangers on a Train?, an Alfred Hitchcock classic. But after the movie the conversation takes on a more serious note as the stranger tells Sandy about his wife and how difficult she makes his life. Assuming that this is all just friendly banter among strangers, Sandy agrees with the other man wholeheartedly and shares his own stories of the grief his wife visits upon him on a regular basis.

When the stranger suggests they each kill the other?s wife, Sandy thinks the other man is joking. Even as the man outlines his methodical plan Sandy doesn?t know what to make of him. But always thinking only of his own gains, Sandy goes along with the other man?s ideas when he is promised wealth and security beyond his wildest dreams.

The plane disembarks and the two men go their separate ways, but a murderous plan by a madman has been set in motion. Shortly afterwards Sandy realizes that although he would like to be free of his wife, he doesn?t want to be free of her in this way. He tries to call it off but the other man has gone beyond all sense of rationale and reasoning.

For the first time in his life, Sandy Kinsolving, a self confessed opportunist, is frightened. The situation gets even tenser when Sandy meets the beautiful wife of the other man and begins to develop feelings for the woman he is supposed to murder.

Sandy is forced to fight back to protect everything, and everyone he loves. He races against time to prevent not one, but two brutal murders from taking place at the hands of a crazed lunatic who sees nothing but his own insane bottom line.

Stuart Woods, the king of surprising twists and chilling turns, does it again with Imperfect Strangers. This book doesn?t let go until the very last page. It?s a winner for sure!
