Survivor Of 9/11 Missing After London Bombs

A tour guide who fled new York after the 9/11 attacks is missing after the London bombings. Mike Matsushita, 37, failed to turn up for his second day as a London tour guide after taking the Piccadilly line from Kings Cross on thursday morning.
Last night his frantic friends and familty were desperately trying to find Mike, who was brought up in America after his parents flew Vietnam. Four years ago he quit his high flying finance job in the states after the terrifying attacks on new York's twin towers, and became a tour guide in Vietnam, where he met his girlfriend Rosie Cowan. Mike followed her back to London and had only started working as a tour guide on Wednesday.
Rosie, 27, who lives with Mike in Islington, North London said ' I am trying to be optimistic about what has happened, maybe he took off his jacket with his i.d in it on the tube - I am too young to become a grieving widow.'
Their Australian flat mate Kim Elliot, 35, said ' He would have been going through Kings Cross at the time of the blast but he did not arrive at work. We know the phone networks were down but by now he should have called someone. My friends and I are going around all the hospitals to check whether he has been admitted, but we have had no luck. He had i.d on him - but what if he has been burned? We are frantic with worry and it is just heartbreaking. We've got everyone we know either lokking for him, or sitting with Rosie, who is just devasted.'
' She was just saying to him the other day that London is so crazy and they should get out of here, and then this happens. We've got him on the hotline and staff at hospitals have been so helpful, but we are so worried.'
