Song Of Songs
(The Bible)

Publicidade
The Song of Songs, or Song of Solomon, is one book in the collection of
books known as the Bible.  This book is yet another poetic book,
written by Solomon and one of his wives.  It is basically a series
of love letters back and forth between the two of them, telling each
other how much and why they love each other.

The book is very poetic and beautiful, extoling the virtues of love and
romance.  It is the more sensual side of the Bible, a side not
often seen in most of the rest of the Bible.  Sex is extolled here
as a beautiful thing between a husband and a wife.  Much passion
is shown in this book, as the couple tells of their increasing love for
each other.

The book is not afraid to talk about sexual things.  Despite the
outdated phrasiology, Solomon describes his wife's body in quite
intimate detail, and in return, she his.  The couple describes,
several times throughout the short book, their sexual encounters.
Though the language is somewhat veiled, especially in the king james
version, if you pay attention, you can tell exactly what the couple is
talking about.  This book, if understood, is definintely rated t
for teen.

There have been many other books, much longer, written on this one
short book, especially talking about sex from a christian
perspective.  Many lectures and such go on daily about this book,
many aimed at high school and college students.  In the Christian
circles, open frank discussions about sex are rare, and often looked
down upon.  This book, to me, points out that sex, in its place,
is a very beautiful thing that should not be frowned upon and viewed as
disgusting or evil.

I think couples today have a lot to learn from this book.  Sex is
a wonderful beautiful thing when used properly, and should be frought
with passion and love.  Solomon and his wife talk openly of their
love for each other, while many couples today feel the need to hide
their passion.  Also, Solomon and his wife both let each other
know exactly how much they love the other, and frequently.  Such
communication is often lacking in relationships, especially after
marriage.
