Full Moon
(Crystal moon)

Publicidade
Running?something was behind her, but she couldn't see?her legs ached, scratches marked her skin, her nightgown was torn?she was so tired, but she couldn't stop, she couldn't give in?give in to what? What was she running from; who was chasing her? She tried hard to remember but in vain. Help! She was screaming as she fell, something had grabbed her leg, no?she tripped, she was falling, falling. There was no ground, she just fell?then it was dark, cold and black. She could feel warmth radiating down her neck, it wasn't air?someone was close behind her, breathing hard, she could feel their arms reaching around her, a hand touched her face?she screamed?but no sound escaped her lips... Ellie sat straight up in her bed. She struggled to gain control of her breathing as she surveyed the familiar surroundings. She was home, in her bedroom, everything was normal It was just a dream. Her long hair still clung to her face and a cold sweat was visible on her skin. Throwing the covers off of her, she jumped from her bed and walked to the bathroom. She didn't turn on the light, the moon was strangely comforting. All I need is a good shower, and then it will all go away. The cold water hit her hard, causing her to gasp in surprise, but she refused to turn it up. I need to wake up, it's too dangerous to sleep now. Her mind was racing, despite her attempts to calm herself. I can't keep running from him, he's not real, it's just my imagination. She shivered as the memory of his touch and closeness surfaced in her mind, it seemed so real, but how, that's impossible! She shook the disturbing thought from her head, turned off the shower and stepped out. Walking to her room, she towel-dried her hair, and put on a clean, soft cotton nightgown. She directed a longing look towards her bed No, you can't sleep right now, it's too soon?you need to forget. She closed her eyes briefly and walked out of the room. The blue numbers on the microwave read 2:00 AM, but she was wide-awake now. The light tinkling of the wind chimes on the porch could be heard through the open window, soothing her, calling her to go outside. As she stepped onto the porch, the warm air graced her skin and she breathed deeply, inhaling the scents of spring flowers on the breeze. ?Ellie?? it was so quiet, she barely heard it. The name seemed to float on the wind. She passed it off as her imagination and relaxed a little as she looked down on her yard. It looks so peaceful, everything is silver?it's amazing. It was quiet outside. With the exception of the chimes, everything was still, almost as if the whole world were anticipating something extraordinary. ?Ellie?? there it was again, louder, there was no denying it this time. She spun around, frantically searching for the speaker. "Who are you, leave me alone!" she cried.?You know who I am Ellie, you saw me in your dreams?? Her face turned a ghostly pale as she realized no one was there. Holding her arms close to her, she asked quietly, trembling, ?What do you want from me??
