Lucy Maud Montgomery's novel about Anne Shirley, an orphaned girl who finds herself in a house in Green Gables due to a misunderstanding. She is charming, sensitive and likeable; she attaches to those who take care of her and is given true love and true home in return. I have never belonged anywhere, she says when she arrives to Green Gables. She quicklyfinds her way in the newenvironment and practically everybody take to herimmediately, but she constantly gets into troubles. She makes lasting friendships and later on she enters a school for teachers to become one finally in Avonlea. The authorcontinues to tell Anne's story in the following volumes of her novel.
