"Candida" the name itself defines that the novel is about a lady of 26 years who is from a very common background.She was married to a very rich materialistic person.She lives in her own world ,she lived her life according to her own wish.she was very caring ,takes care of her father and her husband like a childLater she falls in love with an 18 years old poet and stands by him in front of her husband boldly with her logical reasons.
The book describes her as a daughter , a mother a lover and also a brave woman with her own view of life and she was very practical about everything.
In one episode her husband asks her to select any one of them either him or her husband.
Her answer was like, she cannot live her husband because she is dependent upon her financally, and she cannot live her boyfriend because she loves him .
On the other side of the story, the writer proved that the financially strong person is emotionally very weak and wholly dependent on his wife and the person who is emotionally strong is financially very weak.
But a woman is strong in all the way , if not makes that.
