The Labors Of Hercules
(Agatha Christie)
The Labors of Hercules, is one of my favorite Agatha Christie novels. Hercule Poirot wishes to retire soon, however, before he does, he wants to accomplish the impossible. Quite the opposite of his namesake, Hercules, Hercule Poirot is neither a hero or a muscular creature of low intelligence and criminal tendencies! Hercule Poirot wishes to end his days solving twelve most unusual and intricate challenges, using his wits and his "little gray cells" as his guide. The Labors of Hercules are labors of love for Monsieur Poirot! From the innocent lost Pekinese to a gentleman whose reputation is lost by gossip, from London to Switzerland and and all points in between, Hercule Poirot will follow the clues and solve the crimes, even a Russian countess who blinds the detective reason with love cannot deter his resolve. Poirot follows the lure of a seemingly unsolvable series of ingenious crimes in a style all his own.
