Nadia

"Nadia" is a book about an Israeli Arab girl who wants to become a doctor so that she can treat the sick people in her village. To improve her chances of being accepted in medical school she decides to to enroll in a Jewish high school as a boarder. Nadia is torn between two worlds: blending in with the Jewish children in her class and keeping her individuality as an Arab. When she goes home for vacation, she has a hard time proving to her friends that she is still one of them. The author Galila Ron-Feder was born in Haifa. She has also been the editor of a science magazine for young readers and editor of a children's magazine. Ron-Feder- has published six novels for adults and about 250 books for children and youth.
