David Copperfield describes the evolution of the boy while he was young and till he was an adult man. It?s a classic and that?s what should be kept in mind before reading it.

David Copperfield is a wonderful classic that involves the description of qualities a person can have while his journey in the life-train.

Tenacity, Perseverance, Love, Hatred, Friendship, Circumstantial Mannerism, Humane Relations & Intensity. These are the main abstract yet powerful, intangible yet influential qualities that are described with the help of David & his relations with the people as he moves with the life.

What?s in it?

Since it?s a classic, there?s a lot of melodrama in it. The linguistic pattern renders the classic feel to it. Dickens beautifully described the characters and the places. The characters had a sense of importance in them & sprung up abruptly causing a thrill effect on rare instances. The names of the characters also sometimes do a world of good and so the names chosen by dickens were also very classical.

The way David addressed & communicated with other characters gave a Shakespearean feel sometimes. The atmosphere of the 19th century was set up eloquently & evidences supporting the truth of such an era acted to be a contingent strut either times when the story went perverse.

Continuity & flow.

The mushrooming of pro/con circumstances was a bit too abrupt. It was arduous to gather the names of characters for the reason that they came in to the act a brush more fast than expected. There were too many names to remember and if at all we overlook that negative aspect, it was followed by a brisk change in scenarios with the popping of new names. Thus it was a problem.

Although in hindsight, the things mentioned above do not seem to be assertive or disconfirming, but the possible ill effects could not be estranged.

Women

This book had more female characters than male ones. While this isn?t a problem at all, David had certain feelings towards each of them & some feeling towards some ladies that erupted in David were not expedient. Some female characters were not handled nicely & there was a void that could be filled with the articulated thoughts of Dickens.

There were a bit more insertion of female characters and if at all they could justify their presence, it would do more wonders to the book. Some characters were just fed in for the sake of it. (For those who have read the book, it is of Rosa Dartle.)

Unwanted circumstances.

It does not conform to all, but as far as I?m concerned I think that some circumstances such as the introduction of a villainous act could have been done without. Although this incident was the patron of the following incidents, still there could have been something more wonderful.

Please see that the thoughts that you just read were mine and it can be solely because I am living in the 21st century and I have seen such circumstances occurring before in many of the motion pictures. So it was very vulnerable for me to discard the introduction of a villainous act in the book because it was a sequence/story that voiced in the echoes of many tear jerking motion pictures. This calls for the announcement of all the due respect to the writer. (Dickens)
