My was only six years old when his Sito/ Grandmother passed away. She died of lung cancer and her dying was for the best because she suffered for years and years. My son thought her dying was the worst thing in the world and just couldn't understand why I thought it was good she died. He thought all the worst things like that I didn't love her and things like that. I just hated seeing her suffer so much and I wanted her out of her misery and pain. She held on and fought for a long time for all our sakes no matter how much pain she was in and it was about time she gave up and went to rest. Nobody wants someone they love to die but what they fail to realize that life is no fun when you are in severe pain all the time and are unable to do even the smallest things like even talk. She had one lung removed a long time ago and with only one lung it was hard for her to do much of anything. She suffered numerous heart attacks and had to be hospitalized every other week for more problems. She couldn't do anything fun anymore. She pretty much spent all her time in bed crying because of the severe pain all over and could barely walk or talk or do anything. She was strong and fought for six long years to please family members but six years of agony and pain was way too long. I was happy to see her finally at peace. When someone unexpectedly dies it's tragic but when someone is suffering and suffering, each day getting a little worse than the day before, that type of death should be a happy one. I'll always love and miss her but I am happy she is finally at peace. I wrote a poem to my son to try to get him to understand a little better.

It's hard all this pain that has come to you.
I wish I could comfort what you're going through.
I wish I could of been there, holding you real tight.
I wish this battle, I could of helped you fight.
I wish I could do something to make your pain go away.
I wish I could put a smile on your face today.
It hurts to lose someone, we really do love.
But she's out of her pain now, she's an Angel above.
Don't fall apart now, she's peacefully at rest.
What she would want for you is the very best.
She is peacefully watching you and all that you do.
No matter your mistakes, she really loves you.
